5 Great Moments in Chilean Hip-Hop History

I just came across a great article by Roberto Carreno on five great moments in Chilean Hip-Hop history.

All of the players are predictable 'Tiro de Gracia, Makiza, Los Tetas, Pozze Latina, Panteras Negras' but for those familiar with Chilean Hip-Hop, it's a wonderful trip down memory lane.

Latin Spider-Man #1 now available

I just downloaded and read Spider-Man #1 which introduces the new Latin Spider-Man.

I read it on my iPad through the Marvel App.  The artwork and storyline are good although this issue is pretty short and basically just introduces you to Miles Morales and shows how he gets bit by the radioactive spider.

It'll we be interesting to see how this storyline develops.

Rebranding - LatinoHiphop.Org is now LatinHiphop.co

Dear readers of LatinoHiphop.Org,

For months I have been implementing an initiative to rebrand this website and today is the day that everything officially comes to fruition.

LatinoHiphop.Org is now LatinHiphop.co.

The mission, content and ownership of the site is not changing but is instead being reenergized with a shorter, cleaner and more memorable url.

All prior and future postings will now carry the latinhiphop.co url and LatinoHiphop.Org will now be forwarded to latinhiphop.co.

As always your readership and input is appreciated.

To submit content to latinhiphop.co send me an email via the hyperlink below.

Warmest regards,

Cristopolis

The Evolution of Latino Hip-Hop - September 29, 2011 (Portland, OR)

"The Evolution of Latino Hip Hop" with Latin Groove PDX Productions

Two performances: 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011.  $15 advance, $17 door.

From ritual dances to modern footwork, this cast of nationally recognized dancers and choreographers explore the influence of the ancestral sounds of the indigenous tribes of Africa and the Americas on modern Latino hip hop. Performances groove to the revolutionary rhythms of fandango, salsa and samba, leading to today's street hip hop percussion music and dance styles. Artists include choreographers Gabriela Portuguez, Roman Vasquez, Charlene Rose and dancers Damon Keller, Valenka Cully, Brian Baker and a featured musical number by Joaquín López.

This event is part of "La Luna Nueva", Miracle Theatre Group's third annual festival of Hispanic arts and culture from around the world celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Like the new moon rising from the shadows, "La Luna Nueva" shines its light on emerging artists and new work across a variety of disciplines. Join us for spirited flamenco, inventive hip hop, Latin jazz, a one-man show from New York, storytelling for families, open mic nights, staged readings of plays under consideration for future production as well as two visual art exhibits. Sponsored by PGE Foundation, The Oregonian and Oregon Arts Commission.
