The old model of revenue has been broken for some time now and what we are currently watching is the final phasing out of CD's and the industry that has been built around it.
As music becomes less about ownership due to the availability of instantly accessing any song via the web, the music industry will be forced to find new streams of revenue to replace the old ones.
